1pm ►Secondary Preschool Education & Gimnazija Ljubljana (SVŠGL)
Kardeljeva ploščad 28 A, Ljubljana
Pre-Première is the title of the annual production of the Secondary Preschool Education & Gimnazija Ljubljana (SVŠGL), contemporary dance programme. This gives students of contemporary dance the opportunity to gain experience of performing on a professional stage. The 2015 production topic is the desire to dance and how to address this desire in relation to others: by an invitation, a request, through fear (and courage), seduction and command.
Culture at the level of general public interest is closely related to the notion of the audience; the spectators, the potential spectators, the wished for spectators. What is personal is always incorporated into the social. Theatre and dance as performing arts are by definition a communication between people; a confrontation with others.
Through dance and in relation with this year’s topic we ask the following questions: Who would dance with me? Who is watching? What is the meaning of what we are trying to achieve – and through this, what meaning for the others – the audience.
