NEW EXPRESSIONISMS? TENDENCIES IN SLOVENIAN CONTEMPORARY DANCE
At the discussion event New Expressionism? Tendencies in Slovenian contemporary dance, choreographers participating in this year’s Gibanica festival will try to elaborate, through a series of short self-reflective contributions, on the substantive aspects arising from the selected performances, their views and approaches in the work processes, thereby drawing up a tendency map of the recent contemporary dance production in Slovenia. Contemporary dance practices are marked by a wide range of contents, aesthetics and ideas, which testify to the heterogeneity of approaches to dance, and to the various conceptions of contemporary dance. The aim of the event is to capture the diversity, to mark the field of reference, and to define the continuities and discontinuities in the methods of creation.
