Book presentation: Community of Emancipated Thoughts and Bodies

May 8th, 15.0016.00, +MSUM

The book Community of Emancipated Thoughts and Bodies. Methodologies of Notation of Slovene Female Contemporary Dance Creators 2 is a collection of radically different records that offers a unique and invaluable insight into the contact between theory and practice. Emancipated minds and bodies are choreographers who accept the risk of meeting, dialoguing, researching and recording outside established boundaries, as well as writings that sovereignly venture into different forms, and testify to the agility and curiosity of the theoretical field of contemporary dance, which is constantly developing and questioning the taken-for-granted .

Partly derived from public conversations held in 2018, and partly from recordings in various formats in the years that followed, the book presents the following choreographic-reflexive dialogues: Katja Legin and Rok Vevar; Nataša Živković and Zala Dobovšek; Jana Menger and Andreja Kopač and Petra Tanko; Andreja Rauch Podrzavnik and Pia Brezavšček; Mala Kline and Nika Arhar; Magdalena Reiter and Andreja Kopač; Irena Tomažin Zagoričnik and Ivana Maričić; the collective The Feminalz and Maša Radi Buh; Anja Bornšek, Barbara Kanc, Tina Valentan and Andreja Kopač, Rok Vevar and Sabrina Železnik. The book was published this year by the publishing house Emanat in the XS collection, edited by Maja Delak.

Maša Radi Buh will lead the presentation of the book and the conversation with the selected authors.
