MORE ABOUT THE LAB

Have you ever wondered what lies beyond the mirror of your daily routines?

From the moment we wake to the moment we sleep, our body transforms through rituals that redefine it: workouts, beauty regimens, spiritual practices, surgical interventions, or even the quiet rebellions of aging. These acts are not just habits—they are rites of “metamorphosis”, sculpting new versions of who you are.

But when does transformation become a choice—and when is it imposed?

Christiana Kosiari is inviting you to join her for a choreographic exploration of the self-in-flux. Through improvisation, guided movement material, and structured exercises, we will co-create a collective dance piece that delves into the nature of “transformation”. We’ll use tools that translate bodily memory into motion, focusing on questions like:

  • What are our daily routines? Are they rituals of liberation or cages of expectation?
  • How do our routines become choreographies of identity?
  • Can a routine act as a “cocoon”—a space to shed skin or construct a facade?
  • When we choose to transform, is it truly our own desire—or a script written by society?
  • What happens when transformation is not a goal, but a survival tactic?

This workshop is open to all bodies and stories. All you need is the willingness to surrender to the flow of change. The final piece will be a living portrait of our personal and collective metamorphoses honoring both the transformations we claim and those forced upon us.

Bring something that represents a “transformative crossroad” in your life.

The public presentation will take place on Saturday, May 10th, as part of the festival’s closing event.
