8.30 pm ►Španski borci
The permanent dance group EnKnapGroup, founded in 2007 by the eminent Slovenian choreographer Iztok Kovač, is the only professional dance ensemble in Slovenia at the moment. A composition of remarkable dancers under the artistic direction of Kovač works with internationally acclaimed choreographers and directors of explicitly diverse aesthetic proveniences, thus developing into an A-class ensemble. Since 2009, EnKnapGroup is based at the Španski Borci Cultural Centre in the Ljubljana-Moste neighbourhood.
The projects 10 MIN East and 10 MIN South represent cycles of 10-minute choreographic vignettes tackling the relationship between the collective time patterns and the personal perception of time. Iztok Kovač invited choreographers from certain geo-political contexts which in the past decades underwent substantial changes to take part in the performances. Gibanica will showcase vignettes by director Ivica Buljan and choreographers Jurdi Casanovas, Edward Clug, Iztok Kovač and David Zambrano, a selection made out of altogether 11 vignettes.
