Evin Hadžialjević, Maja Kalafatić, Špela Tovornik and Jasna Zavodnik belong to the representative body of the youngest Slovenian dance artists, beginning to form their artistic space after returning from foreign dance academies. Their story regarding the performance (Empty) Miscellaneous? is incredible. In 2009, they joined the educational artistic programme Med-Ukrep (Inbetween Measures) at Plesni Teater Ljubljana, but had some bad luck with their co-artists who were not able to consolidate into a collective. Two months before their work was to be featured at the festival Ukrep (Taking Measures) the artists started co-operating with two new tutors – director Sebastijan Horvat and choreographer Jana Menger – and, with their help, developing a choreography which is an extremely efficient, simple example of a choreographic exercise of semiotics, in which the same choreographic structure is transferred into diverse sign environments, inhabiting them or succumbing to them, while simultaneously bearing witness to the inconstancy of different artistic genres, dance styles, paradigms and aesthetics.
