Dancer and choreographer Mateja Bučar had been a member of the Ljubljana ballet ensemble at the Slovenian national Opera and Ballet Theatre. She joined the Dance Theatre Ljubljana in 1986, completed her biology studies at the Ljubljana-based Biotechnical Faculty and started to create her own contemporary dance opus at the beginning of the 1990s, often interacting with contemporary visual arts. Her work, representing one of the most important choreographic opuses of the past two decades on account of its wideness, consistency and complexity, perhaps expresses a thinking of virtual, schematic, notional or factual spaces and dance, which makes it perceptible.
Green Light is a choreographic situation using the minimalist form of traffic signalisation in order to speak to us through the momentary situation at a certain passable city corner about contemporary dance, choreography and bodies involved in them. Or it could simply be something unusual, variegating the worn out routine of our city paths.   Avtorica: Mateja Bučar
