Gibanica 2021

Coexsitence
Ljubljana, 15–18 September 2021

The first six performances of the 10th Gibanica – Biennial of Slovenian Contemporary Dance Art were selected, which will compete for the Gibanica 2021 Audience Award for the best performance and for the Gibanica 2021 Jury Award for the best performance.

Due to the unexpected pandemic conditions that also influence cultural and art events, Contemporary Dance Association Slovenia, the executive producer of the Gibanica festival, decided together with co‑producers to postpone the 10th anniversary edition of Gibanica from the first to the second half of 2021 and thus try to ensure a live version of the festival. In view of completely changed premiere production and spatial plans due to the circumstances, we also extended the deadline for Gibanica 2021 call for applications. As a result, the Gibanica 2021 selection team, consisting of Zala Dobovšek, Bettina Masuch and Benjamin Perchet, will add two more contemporary dance works to the selection, and we extended the application deadline for productions with premiere performances between 27 November 2020 and 7 May 2021.
